get playing in it :) , get it nice 'n dirty! the trousers are a little too clean and if those are modern boots they look a little like wellies with the gaiters! (constuctive view)
pretty damn cool loadout, a lot less to weigh you down than airborne.
nice

Looking good, a little to clean, but that'll change soon enough ;)

PFC stripes appear to be placed a little low in my opinion.

Cheers,

Rick

Aye, and they look on the photo to be the wrong pattern - the green ones for M43s rather than the silver/blue ones for M41. Looking good, though! :D

As far as I know both styles of stripes were worn on all kinds of clothing. Seeing as they are private-purchase items which had to be removed and sewn on by hand every time the GI received a fresh set of clothing, I would say they're not really incorrect. Though I guess the subdued ones were slightly more attractive to use in the field.

As for the placing of stripes. I've always been told they should go halfway between the shoulder and the elbow.
There is a chart for placing insignia on a 4-pocket coat on Hardscrabblefarm.com . The unit patch and rank insignia go in the same place on the M41 jacket.

Lol, not quite. Try MG42, Sten and maybe a .30 cal and MG34. I'm turning part of my garage into a mini workshop and the steel is all part of the plan to build up the required raw materials, maybe even do a couple of "runs" of different guns. My plans to make fibreglass helmets died a natural death, so I'm switching to gun production as another "hobby".

I think there were very few people that didn't at some point during the day  .... however I got some a few good shots when the K98 fired (it really didn't like the f & o bbs and kept blocking as they disintigrated :x) sniping in :raspberry:

You need to get yourself some posh BBs for your K98. I use .43s in mine. Treat her nice and she'll shoot just right. :ghey:

She normally has (think its .3s or there about and will be something distinctly better for ostfront), unfortunately this time she didn't and she really REALLY didn't like it  at one point I was aiming and 1bb was shattering and firing in 4 different directions  she needs a clean as do the mags as they're all gubbed up with bits of white crap

Having to make, field shift barrel pokie sticks from erm sticks and twigs half the day kinda started to loose its edge, but I persisted all day (despite the many occasions she had a hissy fit). Poor thing

Just arrived from What Price Glory - held up with slow transit and stuck in customs, too late for Varsity

Pair of ammo boots - very nice and only around £43 - http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=1485&bc=no
Pair of size 4 P37 gaitors - post-war Belgian, greenish canvas (but look as if they have been blanco'd ) £3.50 - http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=1525&bc=no

Maroon beret - nicely huge and floppy (branded King & Country 1943 inside)
Maroon beret - smaller, more modern size (branded What Price Glory) and doesn't say WW2 to me.

Unfortunately I'm not sure which beret is which - one costs £8, the other £12.50. The K&C one is fantastic (it might be this one http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=1443&bc=no !

I'm wearing the ammo boots at the moment - American size 10 on my UK size 9 feet. They are stiff and creaky at the moment but feel comfy - hope loosing up will be counteracted by thick socks 'cos they are perfect at the moment!

I have a similar problem with my beret, one of the cost a fortune "wwii pattern" for twice as much as it should cost. I have a size 56 noggin and this has repro markings- size 7, kay headdress ltd 1944.
problem is it looks like a modern one to me now its all nice and shaped.
curse my small head!
